Chan Hay Ching (陳曦靜) studied Chinese at Lingnan University, which has kindled her interest in writing. She has published two collections of short stories. Chan believes that writing is a process of maturation and discovery. While having the most sincere conversation with her own self, it is also a kind of communication with the society and even the world. As an immigrant from the Mainland to Hong Kong, she has expressed her understanding towards the complicated relationship between mainland China and Hong Kong, making her work stands out with unique cultural elements.
