Wu Yin Ching is a writer who graduated from the Faculty of Arts in HKU and has been teaching in HKBU since 1985. She was born in Guangzhou in 1954, and then immigrated to Hong Kong with her parents in 1962. At first, she disliked Hong Kong. However, as time went by, she loved the city and regarded it as her hometown. The source text of our translation is from Wu’s book A Warmer Place. The most distinctive theme of the book is to write her own city - Hong Kong.
