Wu graduated from the University of Hong Kong, majoring in Chinese and English. She taught at the Hong Kong Baptist University since 1985 but has now retired. She has won a huge number of awards including the Hong Kong Biennial Awards for Chinese Literature and The Hong Kong Arts Development Awards- Artist of the Year.
